Required Documents for Licensing

​Sole Proprietorships:

  1. Filling out the licensing form.
  2. Copy of the applicant's passport and family book.
  3. Copy of the competent manager's passport (if available).
  4. Scientific certifications and preceding practical expertise belonging to the license holder or the competent manager if the nature of the economic activity requires such.
  5. Approval from other competent governmental authorities, depending on the nature of the activity.
  6. The original lease contract and a copy of the property's title deed, upon obtaining approval for the site from the Inspection Division.


Services Agent (Professional — Commercial)

  1. Filling out the licensing form.
  2. A copy of the applicant's passport clarifying residency or visa information.
  3. Approval from the license holder's guarantor authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce.
  4. Copy of the citizen's (service agent's) passport, family book and ID card.
  5. Activities proportionate with the service agent.
  6. The original lease contract and a copy of the property's title deed, upon obtaining approval for the site from the Inspection Division.
  7. Authentication of the service agent's contract from the DED notary (main headquarters).


Limited Liability Companies (LLCs):

  1. Filling out the licensing form.
  2. Passport copies of all partners including residency/ visa details for expatriates, and copies of family book for UAE citizens and identity cards.
  3. Copy of the competent manager's passport (if he/ she are not one of the partners present).
  4. Proof of capital (in the case of LLCs) by a letter issued from a bank or a budget declaration authenticated by a certified accounting auditor, depending on the DED's requirements.
  5. Approval from other competent governmental entities, depending on the nature of the economic activity.
  6. Written approval for expatriate partners from the Chamber of Commerce, if the partner is located outside the establishment where he (they) work.
  7. The original lease contract and a copy of the property's title deed, upon obtaining approval for the site from the Inspection Division.
  8. Authentication of the partnership contract from the DED notary.
  9. Authentication of the partnership contract by the Ministry of Economy.


Partnerships:

  1. Filling out the licensing form.
  2. Passport copies for all partners and copies of family books for UAE citizens and identity cards.
  3. Copy of the competent manager's passport (if available).
  4. Approval from other competent governmental entities, depending on the nature of the activity.
  5. The original lease contract and a copy of the property's title deed, upon obtaining approval for the site from the Inspection Division.
  6. Authentication of the partnership contract from the DED notary.


Joint Stock Companies (Public — Private):

  1. Approval from the Securities & Commodities Authority in the event of public joint stock companies, and approval from the Ministry of Economy in the event of private joint stock companies.
  2. Filling out the licensing form.
  3. Copies of the founders' passport and copies of family books for UAE citizens and identity cards.
  4. Copy of the competent manager's passport (if available).
  5. Approval from other competent government entities, depending on the nature of the activity.
  6. Copy of the project's feasibility study.
  7. The original lease contract and a copy of the property's title deed, upon obtaining approval for the site from the Inspection Division.
  8. Authentication of the partnership contract from the DED notary.
  9. Authentication of partnership contracts from the Ministry of Economy.


Opening Branches for Local Companies & Establishments:

  1. Filling out the licensing form.
  2. Letter from the establishment or company authorizing the opening of a branch and delegating a branch manager.
  3. Copy of the competent manager's passport (if available).
  4. Copy of the main office's commercial license and a partners' statement in the event of a partnership.
  5. Copy of the mother company's founding contract, in the event of partnership.
  6. Scientific certifications and preceding practical expertise for the license holder or competent manager, in the event the nature of the economic activity requires such in case of individual establishments.
  7. The company's capital, in the event the nature of the economic activity or legal frame requires such.
  8. Approval from other competent governmental entities, depending on the nature of the economic activity.
  9. The original lease contract and a copy of the property's title deed, upon obtaining approval for the site from the Inspection Division.
