In pursuance of its annual goals, in coordination with its partners, Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED) has implemented 116 initiatives and events over the past year. The initiatives targeted employees, customers, people of determination, the elderly, children, and other groups in society. They covered several areas, including culture, sports, health and education. RAK DED finished these events and initiatives by honoring the participants in the celebrations of the 49th National Day of the UAE.
RAK DED draws up its operational plan for initiatives and events every year in line with the needs of its customers, partners, and the community in harmony with the plans and ongoing projects of its organizational units. Aisha Obaid Al-Ayyan, Institutional Communication Office Manager, explains that the purpose of these initiatives is to achieve the desired strategic goals of enhancing social responsibility and strengthening the communication frameworks with the relevant authorities.
Al-Ayyan said that RAK DED organized and implemented 116 events and initiatives. Of these, 66 were initiatives with partners, 25 were community initiatives, and 25 were for the RAK DED employees and customers. They all had to take into consideration the precautionary and preventive measures and the conformity with the global changes in addressing the Coronavirus pandemic.
Despite the fact that these measures have constrained the implementation of some events, the community presence was effective. The diverse events throughout the year included free health checks for employees, blood donation campaigns, participative sports events, various workshops honing the skills of employees, exhibitions for the community, initiatives for students, initiatives for employees’ wellbeing, and others.
Al-Ayyan expressed her thanks and appreciation for all the efforts that made the RAK DED events and initiatives so successful during the past year.
